This is the first of many monthly publications profiling the golf courses in Ottawa. The first one in this series is the Kanata Lakes Golf and Country Club. It is a private club, featuring a parkland style 18-hole course that was redesigned by renowned architect Tom McBroom in 1990. Aside from the beautiful landscape, the golf course combines the classic look of parkland golf courses and contemporary shot values. The course places an emphasis on the short game and accuracy, and the small to medium sized greenery is enveloped by bunkers and mounds.

The club is located in the center of Kanata close to Highway 417, and its facilities include an iron range, chipping and putting green near the first tee. The clubhouse itself overlooks the 9th and 18th holes and has a banquet room members can use. The clubhouse also has a hall for hosting special occasions and a private balcony.
